Help, for weeks now, I have had ulcer type blisters on my tongue, had a few in my throat but they went away, seems like they are trying to come back...the blisters are on the sides of my tongue. I went to the doc and she said that because I am under a lot of stress, this is the case...she gave me valtrex...I have taken it for a day now and thought that I would at least feel some kind of better...anyone had this and any info would be great...I am getting married a week from tomorrow and my new sister n laws husband has maybe two weeks to live, terminal cancer...job stress, money, just everything, my mouth hurts. Any ideas??? BTW, I have not had anything in my mouth that I should not have so this is legit. Appreciate anything you could tell me.

HI, don't know if this will help, but I had ulcers in my mouth for several years. I was told they were caused by stress as well. I was put on several meds and finally set my mind to not let things get to bad. Two things I found that may help. Yogurt sooths the pain and may help you. The next is mountwash, such as listerine, dilute it a bit as it will sting, but that has always helped me. Try it especially before bedtime. I hope you will feel better, the mouth nerves are the hardest to control. Good luch and try to calm down if you can. I know that is so hard with your situations and I will say a prayer for you and yours. Pat

Try a product sold in I think the mouthwash aisle called Biotene. It's a mild mouthwash for sensitive or dry mouth. I've used it when I had a painfu, dry and oversensitive tongue and inside my cheeks, didn't know what the cause was. But this stuff worked. I used it several times a day and just swished it around.
good luck |

I have Sjogrens syndrome, which kills all of the good bacteria in my mouth. I seldom have the sores since I started using biotene toothpaste and mouthwash. It wont sting like Listerine and other brands. Ice water will help kill the pain for a few minutes and there are some topical treatments that numb the tongue and handle the pain. Ask your dentist or pharmacist. Good luck.

Try this remedy. Mix equal parts Benadryl and Maalox liquid together. Squish in your mouth for 1 minute DO NOT RINSE . DO NOT SWALLOW. Repeat as needed. It really will work for you. I suffered for years with sores now when one appears I just mix this up and voila it's gone.

I used to get these little blister like sores in my mouth when I had a lot of stress too. I used CamphoPhenic (spelling?)liquid, sold at the pharmacy section of Walmart. This would get rid of them quickly. I hope yours go away soon.

The cause of mouth sores can be food allergies. Ten years ago I kept getting them,Doctors acted like I was nuts telling them I got mouth sores all the time and they were painful. They gave me a numbing mouthwash. However, I have Celiac disease can't eat Wheat,Rye,Barley no gluten as in starch etc. The sores went away with the gluten free diet.

MY mom and I get these sores in our mouths and what we found really helped were eating crystalized (or candied) ginger and/or making a mouth rinse out of thyme and swishing it around but do not swallow the thyme rinse. it is made by boiling dried thyme and water and then letting it cool then straining it through a small strainer or cheesecloth. since we have been using these things, neither one of us has had a sore. Good Luck!!!

I hope this helps you, I too have these sores especially on the sides of my tongue, I have been told it was stress, but I take an herb(?) L-Lysine and that clears it right up. Try it, hopefully it will work for you, I tried everything, this was the only thing that helped
