i chewed my fingernails for years. i finally decided to grow them out. the problem is, since i chewed them for so long, my nails r very weak. they always keep breaking. especially the edges. is there somthing i can do to make them stronger? thanks.

Hi! Well, first off, You might look at how you trim your nails. One thing that weakens the edges is trimming them into a rounded shape. They should be a light oval, with fairly square edges. That doesn't mean razor-sharp points! LOL

Another thing you might try, if you haven't already, is using a good nail hardener. I use Sally Hansen for this; the products are inexpensive and work well.

How in the world does anyone keep nice nails? I have tried nail hardener and try to eat good, but to no avail.
