I'm new here, my sister has been a member for awhile. As a man who's raised 2 boys and is still single in his 40's I find this a great site so far to read up on things from a womans prespective.
I am wondering if I am permitted to say this, not sure but will try anyway.
My sister, who is older and practically raised the 5 of us, had her house in Florida burn to the ground in May. Since she is widowed and hasn't much income, her house and furnishings where what she'd collected over the past 20+ years. All of us are helping to the extent we can, but she did not have insurance since it sky rocketed after the Hurricanes of 2005. We've set up a donation for any help we can get. She is staying with me until the winter when she can get back down there and clean up the mess that is left of her home.
Anything would help get her at least a trailer and the money to clean up what is left of her house.

Hi KC! I'm sorry to hear about your sister here in Palatka, FL. I am about 40 minutes away and think I might have heard it on the news. I know of a web site here that might be able to help her with furniture. It's stuff that people are just trying to get rid of, alot of it is good furniture and have no place for it. Check out Freecycle.com or craigslist. I found some nice things through them. Wish your sister well.
