I rearrange my large sofa from one side of the living room to the other side. I have carpets, and now there is four dents on it where the sofa once was. I need to restore the dents in my carpet. Any solution will be appreciated

I've not actually tried this, however, I heard that you should lay a piece of ice on the dented area and let it melt. Once melted, you fluff it up with your hand and it's supposed to bring it back into its original shape. Please let me know if that works because as I said, I never actually tried it myself. Thanks.

I use this method all the time and it really works - however, I find it have to put a few cubes and make sure I cover the entire dent. Sometimes you may have to repeat it. I also use my fingertips after the cubes have melted to fluff it up a bit.

try brushing the carpet with a brush and then use the vac hose to suck it up straight again. i'm a cronic furniture mover. until hubby bought sectional, need a crew to move that...

Try using a steam iron. I've read this so I don't know for sure it works. It says to use the steam to fluff the fibers back up. Use indirectly on carpet.
Hope it works. |

I have moved my heavy furniture around and also a pool table. To remove the dents in the carpet I spray water onto them ...fluff, let dry and vaccuum...then I repeat as many times as necessary...It works..but sometimes it may take a few times...especially the pool table ...

I have done this many times. Instead of ice cubes, I use the portable ice bags that you use in coolers to keep the food cold without getting it wet. The hard plastic ones work very well too. The deepest indention was where an extremely heavy bookcase (filled with books from ground to ceiling) was and it took a couple of days but the carpet looked brand new)

I have done this several times and it always works. I'm in real estate and tell my clients about it as well.
Just wet a bath towel and lay it over the dent, then press down with an iron for a minute or so. The steam will raise the nap of the carpet. If the dent is really deep you may have to do it a couple of times, but it always works. goodluck |
