Sorry, but you're going to have to get on your hands and knees and scrub it with a Pumice stone! It really works!

I have used a can of Coke in the past for this problem. If it is in the bowl and looks as a water ring put pour a can of Coke and the acid from the soda will loosen it up. It wont take the rust off but it will loosen it up so you dont have to scrub as hard. Hope it works for you.

We live in the country and have a well instead of city water. We too have a lot of rust. My solution to anything that gets rusty is to use a product called Iron Out. It is great on anything, however please be sure you read all the directions. We even use it in our water softner--per our installer's advise. I love this product over any other rust remover on the market.

I was watching How Clean is Your House and I think they used regular table salt to clean a filthy toilet. These are English ladies and you might fine the " recipe" on line.

I used to have to scrub the rust away and then I happened to buy Sno-Bol toilet cleaner and the rust stains just disappeared as I used it.

I know this sounds crazy.. or it may..make you think twice about what is in this softdrink.. BUT the original Coca-Cola... will do it.. as a matter of fact.. it will remove rust from your batteries.. like the post on you car battery, your clothes... I hope you get this.. in time... it really works the best if you drain the water from your toilet bowl and pour 2-2 liters of Coca-Cola.. the real thing.. just wait for it to be on sale for a buck.. then you have a 2 buck solution.. Good Luck and God Bless.. Trish C from Waldorf, MD

The best thing I found was a product called whink. You squirt it on a wait about 5 minutes and the rust stains are completely gone. This summer my toilet bowl was the whitest it has ever been!

I have to agree with the person that suggested using "the works". The stuff is absolutely incredible. Used it in new (to us) house, that had well water sitting in bowls for months. Barely had to use a brush. Also used it on an older porcelain sink. Squirt it and rust disappears. Works MUCH faster than CLR or any ohter product, AND its MUCH cheaper!

Clorox bleach tablet in the flush tank work the best for me. I had the same problem, and had tried different products, but with no luck. Just drop one in, and by morning it's clear.
