If you have a microfiber material sofa, you can get it out with an eraser. Best wishes!

If you still have the ink stain...Stain Devil makes several versions and their ink remover works well...with patience. Blot the stain until it is gone folllowing the instructions. product in your laundry isle.

I agree Carbona stain devil has saved me many many times I even use it on the kids backpacks at the end of the year , I wash them and put them away for next year looking brand new . As for couches and permanent marker I have been there with a brand new couch and my 3 year old drawing away on it. This is the first time I thought I would have a heart attack I picked her up put her in the car and off to the store we went where I found Carbona shining like a angel , home I go follow the directions and wouldn't you know it every last bit came out. I now have on hand the one for ink and the one for gum at all times. The others work well too but these are they two I use most. Carbona stains wizard my Hero.

What kind of ink ball point or sharpie type marker?...If its ball point pen ink there is a product I use it sold at dollar tree stores called AWESOME CLEANER a multi-purpose cleaner and it works on ball point ink as long as its not a set in stain (washed & dried). On a different note its a degreaser and fab. on carpet stains. For any non-beleivers its only a buck!! its worth it.

Hello jen. I get ball point stain out of white shirts with hairspray. I spray the spot and it runs then I take a damp cloth and clean it as I know if you can't wipe it out spray hairspray on it and the wash in warm water. Now you said a couch what kind of fabric are we talking about.? Read the tag on the couch and call the cleaners they can offer a solition for you . I hate to see you ruin your couch but I know hairspray works.
There is aproduct my friiend gave me for christmas it is called grandma it does gret on all of my stain I get in my clother good Luck shirley |

I have used hairspray on clothing, but I would think it would work on the couch too. Just spray and take a damp coth to blot the spot. It may take several times to take it all away. Good Luck

I didn't read through everyone's advice to remove ink, but here is my tip: HAIRSPRAY AND ALCOHOL.
Don't tell anyone but, I was at my daughter's house while she was on her honeymoon and I fell asleep with a marker in my hand (a big fat black one)! I took the cover off the cushion and soaked with with hairspray then rinsed, and sprayed more repeated several times then tried the alcohol got the remaining ink out. |

I do agree with e1 with the hairspray because it does take ink spots out But I would take a test on your furniture basing on the color. because it can change the color of your furniture take a test some where you couldnt see it just to see if it is safe and color doesnt change because it does have alcohol in it

Try hairspray. Hairspray takes ink stains out. It has saved a lot of things for me. It's the only thing I use hairspray for.

Try a magic eraser from Mr. Clean. My daughter went through a period of writing on everything. We got permanent marker out of the berber carpet and off the countertops. But you will have to use elbow grease.

Try a magic eraser from Mr. Clean! I LOVE this product! It's my lifesaver.....give it a try. I also have just had dark blue paint spill on my beige carpet and used StainzROut from HSN and it worked great. Good luck...I feel your pain.

This is a tough one and I think you may want to consider having a professional clean it since it's new and because it's suede. Did the couch come with instructions for cleaning? Usually it's either attached somewhere or included with the paperwork. Read that first!
Suede and leather are harder to deal with and need special treatment. However, if it's one of the new man made sueded furniture fabrics, you may be able to use an upholstery cleaner on it. Normally I use alcohol for ink, but in this case, it may spread it instead of removing it and it may even remove some of the color, so I'd be hesitant to use it on a suede couch, regardless of the kind of suede it is. One little trick for removing ink is to put a piece of scotch tape over it, rub the spot with your fingernail, then yank the tape off. Repeat till the stain's gone. However, if you decide to try this or any kind of cleaner, please test it on an inconspicuous spot first (like on the underside of the couch) to make sure the color or the fabric itself is not being damaged. Just me |
