Since the magazine is no longer going to be published, what happens to those of us with subscriptions? Are we going to be getting a refund for the balance of our subscription?

I can't speak for Quick & Simple. But I have had a Hearst magazine and a few other magazines that ceased publication. Generally a subscription to a similar magazine was offered in substitution for the remaining value/issues. A post card was usually sent and in the fine print there were instructions on how to obtain a refund and a deadline to request a refund, otherwise you would just receive the substitute subscription.
