So many different posts with the same questions, let see if we can just do a summary:

1) You have time left on your subscription, what do you do? According to penny1328 "I just called Customer Service and they told me that we should be receiving a letter shortly. My guess is that it will be our choice as to whether we will get a refund or we can receive one of their other publications. This will be mentioned in the letter. So I guess we just have to "sit tight"."

2) What do we do about code words for the contests? According to Brenda "After August 2, we will be removing the code requirement from the daily instant wins -- you'll be able to participate without having to provide any special code." And "Don't worry -- we won't require you to submit a code word that isn't available!

We're coming up with a system that's fair and fun. Stay tuned!"

3) Private Messages confuse me, how do I do that? According to my answer "Generally when you receive a private message you get an email telling you that one is waiting for you to read it. Click inside the email to go to the message. There should then be a reply button on the bottom, similar to what you see in the topics here. Click on that, reply and then click on Post Now. It won't post it to the general board like here but in the private topic. Once you have done that, the person you are replying to gets an email saying they have either a reply to the private topic. If you want to start a private message click on "Go", hover over "Personal Zone" go to the menu that comes out to the right and click on "Private Messaging". Then click on "New Private Message" and follow the instructions there. You will need to know the persons screen name in order to send a message to them. And the wheels turn round and round with those."

4) I hate that the magazine is going to end. What can we do to stop this action? Realistically nothing. Hearst Publications has made the decision and it appears to be binding. Call it cost, interest, fees, whatever, it's going to end and in reality we, as a group of subscribers, can do nothing to stop it. I will continue to use the online version personally and will continue to enter the contests and contribute to the discussion board. Hopefully you all will to. I know it's not the same as being able to take the magazine out to the deck and enjoy of cup of coffee with it but if you have a laptop you still might be able to do just that.

Very nicely well put Shari. Now there should not be any more fustrated people here with not being able to optain the code words, since all contest will be on site. Everyone here should enjoy the site since it will be the only means of Q&S.

Sometimes (no offense meant to Brenda or anyone else associated with the print and online publication) it just helps to read or hear thing from someone not necessarily associated with it directly. I tried to take the top questions and answer them in a way people could look at and go "Ya, that's what I was thinking but it's nice to see it written down".

Thanks momof1. Q&S did do a 2 page article on me with all my savings and mutitask self. I sure am gonner miss it. And Shari I agree with you on no offense to Brenda, She's been handling this well with all her responds to everyone about the closing of q&s magazine. I think the president of Hearst magazine (Cathleen Black) should consider in doing their last issue with all the staff of Q&S. Something that they all can remember as being part of a great magazine.
