I work from home and want to share some things that I have learned so no one else learns the hard way (like I did). First off, decide if you want a job from home or a home business. A job from home should have NO FEE but you usually have set hours and must work those hours, no exceptions. You will be guaranteed a hourly or monthly salary.

A work from business does have a start up fee which can be on the low end of $5.00 to $5000 and up! You get to decide your own hours but since it is a home business there is no guaranteed hourly/monthly pay.

Know that whether you are doing a job from home or a home business, you will be "selling" a service or product as anything you do in America is (if you run a daycare center, you a providing a service, if you work at a restaurant, you are selling food, etc).

Before you start anything, check it out with the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org). Do your research before getting started with anything.

If you want to know more pros or cons, just email me at [email address removed by Quick & Simple. For your security, please do not post your email address on the site.].

I am a student and have looked into the online data entry jobs and paid surveys but I've never had the nerve to do it. You have to pay a fee for membership and I've just never taken the plunge. The sites are all bookmarked and everything but I just don't know.
If you know anything about a good way to earn extra income, please reply!

Hello, I have a great work at home business. I researched the company, checked out the Better Business and actually took the product for several weeks before I started the business building side of it. I feel great on the product, and you can make a residual income if you are willing to work at it. This is not a get rich quick scheme. The company has been in business for ten years. You do not have to sell or stock product....you only have to sign up to receive your product that you take yourself each month. If you want to know more you can email me at [email address removed by Quick & Simple. For your security, please do not post your email address on the site.]. I will send you my website and information for you to make a wise decision. Again, [email address removed by Quick & Simple. For your security, please do not post your email address on the site.]. Please indicate in the subject line post on quick and simple. Your only cost is the product with shipping it is right at $30.00 a month. Happy New Year and I look forward to having you on my team!

I am celebrating my 10th anniversary in February with a company that has been in business since 1980. It's a home based business (meaning you do most of the work at home and set your own hours, but must go out of the home for some of the work; again, set your own hours). I would be more than happy to share information with you to help you make the right decision.

I've also been involved with three other major companies and have friends in other direct sales companies. I'd be happy to answer questions if I have knowledge about the specific company.

Contact me for information at: [email address removed by Quick & Simple. For your security, please do not post your email address on the site.] and I'll direct you to my website. Please put "Q&S" in the subject line.

I notice alot of people here post their e-mail to give information on home base opportinity to any one that is interested. It's not a good idea. If you know of any home base opportunity, post it here.Remember if ask for a fee it's not worth looking into it. Here are the sites of three leaders in the field that are legit: Alpine Access www.alpineaccess.com VIPDesk www.vipdesk.com and Willow CSN www.willowcsn.com Hiring is handled online and on the phone, which mirrors the type of work you're doing. Expect to be tested in typing, writing, language and computer skills.

I'm so happy to see so many people interested in working from home or at home! I have posted my e-mail ([email address removed by Quick & Simple. For your security, please do not post your email address on the site.]) for people to contact me about my business because the company has asked us not to do any sort of internet advertising using their registered name. They are interested in preserving the integrity of the company and its brand name. If you contact me, I will direct you to my personal website and to the company's main website.

I would also advise EVERYONE looking into a home based business to go to the Better Business Bureau website, and to the Direct Seller's Association website. I personally am leery to do business with a company that hasn't become a member of and agreed to the strict guidelines of the DSA. Shop around, there are plenty of legit opportunities in Direct Sales and other work from home jobs. Many legitimate companies have a start up cost to get started, not a "fee" but rather the cost to buy the necessary products you will need to get started. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

Love to hear from some more of you on the topic of how you chose the business you chose; how long you've been doing it; how it has changed your lives, etc.

You can contact me personally about my business at [email address removed by Quick & Simple. For your security, please do not post your email address on the site.]

You can always PM another Club Q&S member and send your info/email that way. It will send an email to the persons address to alert them to the message/topic. These message boards are public and there are bored people in the world that use programs to search message boards such as these to capture email addresses. They adore sending SPAM and other unsolicited emails.

Be safe.

Re working from home, there's another option besides starting your own business. Many established firms, clinics and insurance companies and publishers use telecommuters or home-based employees. I'm a medical transcriptionist, full time with benefits, for a major clinic. I work out my home, and have for nearly 10 years. Advantage here is that the companies often supply the computers & software. So there are no start up costs. Other options are medical billing and many types of insurance claims payors. I've also worked from home (always for an employer) as a proofreader/editor and a document analyst. This is a good deal if you are already experienced in the field to the point you wouldn't require much in-house training. Telecommuting has all the advantages of being an employee, none of hassles of self-employment. But please don't fall for those 800 number ads that promise you the moon and huge money in those fields--legit companies don't go that route. cejay

If you are looking for work from home then you can go to www.teamdoubleclick.com. I have been working with them for over a year and it's been great! There are no fees ever. You do have to go through an interview and some testing but it has been well worth it. Don't expect a lot of hours to start but have some patience and stick with it.

I have really been interested in some work from home type thing. I checked into the team double click but really wasn't sure what type of positions they were looking to fill. I was impressed by the site. and may check into it extra funds would make my life a bit easier without looking for another job outside my home.
