I have been walking on the elliptical 4 days a week for 60 minutes. I also have added 2 lb weights to each leg and have hand weights. This intensifies the workout. I want to run but I don't have enough energy yet. So the elliptical is great. I balance myself on it walking on it without hands. It makes me feel like I'm running. After the elliptical, I hit the treadmill for 2-3 miles. Somedays I hit the inclines of 4,8, & 12. Then come back down from 12, 8, 4 and then 1. I also go strong for 1 minute every 5-10 minutes for a change in my workout. I am definitely getting stronger each day. I do wear a pedometer to track my steps but I am going to get one that tracks calories too. We are doing the Biggest Loser at school and we are in the final 30 days so I need to step up my workout from 4 days to 7 days a week. I have lost a total of 26 lbs and 2 inches all over in just 2 months. I still have a long way to my goal weight but I have never felt better working my own pace.

Cattoates - Good for you! This is a great accomplishment and you should be very proud of yourself.

I have an elliptical machine too and never thought to use it the way you are. I am going to try that this week.

I too am a big fan of The Biggest Loser and that show has inspired me to get more active. I haven't lost as much as you have but my pants are getting bigger and I have to go down a size (an start wearing belts!). Since January 1st, I have lost 8 lbs. I have more energy than I have in awhile.

Keep up the good work. Check back in at the message boards when your contest is all done.
