I have several long time close friends that have been there for me during the good times as well as the bad times. They are the ones I can always turn to and confide in. You just can't have that bond and friendship with acquaintances. A true friend is truly a gift.

A group of friends, which are all my 5 sisters.

one best friend is better than knowing a bunch of people who aren't friends. one person would be more considerate of your needs, and more likely go places just to spend time with you. { and i don't mean that in a creepy way either }

ALL of the above. A really close friend is a bessing from above, but alot of friends only add to the excitement and joy of being alive. Thay only even enhance the bond between really close friends, because those friendships don't become stagnant, but more alive with much more to share.

I HAVE BEEN THROUGH ALOT THIS LAST YEAR AND FOUND OUT WHO MY FRIENDS ARE AND THESE ARE THE GROUP OF PEOPLE I WOULD RATHER BE WITH. THEY ALL WERE THERE FOR MY SUPPORT WHEN I NEEDED IT MOST. BECAUSE OF THEM, I AM FINALLY GETTING BETTER PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY.

Throughtout my life I have had what could be considered 3 best friends. Lost touch with one of them but the other two are still here.

I also have a large array of acquaintances that I wouldn't trade for the world. While I don't consider them my best friends, I wouldn't want to be without them.

A large group of acquaintances I would select because I HAD only one best friend for 15 years, the godmother of my daughter. However, suddenly, out of the blue, she typed me a letter telling me to get out of her life. I guess I knew too many of her secrets. I still to this day do not know what happened. It has almost been one year and we work together. It has been horrible, especially explaining to my 8-year old that she no longer has an "aunt" Jill (made up name).

I would definitely want one really fanastic best friend. I've had a few best friends over the years. We've lost touch or things have happened between us. I have one right now. We did not talk for almost 3 years. I'm still not sure what happened but we are talking now. It's not the same as it use to be but I'm trying. I think it's a trust issue. Waiting to be hurt again? But my Best Friend is my Husband and always will be. We share evrything.....

Just one best friend that I know I can rely on through the ups and downs of everyday life means more to me than having a large group of acquaintances. Its comforting to know that there is that one special person who will also be there for you.

I have two friends that are there thru thick and and thin, good or bad, tears or laughter.
I have alot of acquaintances, however,they are
only there during the good times. You are fortunate if you have even one good, fantastic,

You can have a million friends & have to have your guard up with each 1 of them. A best friend however, you can talk 2 about anything- they won't tell anybody,look at u like ur nuerotic, or just tell u how that makes THEM feel. And if it ends up that u are nuerotic, they'll be right down the hall in the padded cell next door !

While it is great to have a large group of acquaintances I believe it is important to have a close friend with whom you can trust with your heart. Sometimes there are things that we need to share but we need to know that the person we are sharing them with will not turn around and share it with others. I am blessed to have a friend that I can tell her anything about my past, my present, even my hopes for the future and she will not dissappoint the trust I have in her. She knows that she can do the same with me.
