It is just my husband and I now as empty nesters, but we still love to plant fresh veggies and also herbs for ourselves. Nothing tast better in the summer than a ripe and juicy tomatoe. Bell peppers are also great straight from the garden. We plant in pots so the weeding is very little and watering is a breeze. Enjoy the spring and summer months.

I love to grow vegetables and flowers.

I have a small vegetable garden that we grow peas, beans, and lettuce in. This year I am hoping to grow carrots for the first time.

My flower beds are fairly new so they are small. However I plan to add to them as the years go by. I have a 5-year plan that I will plant smaller new gardens every year and by that time I should be finished.

I can't wait to get my hands dirty turning over the soil. I find it to be very relaxing and satisfying.

I love gardening, it's so relaxing. I grow many types of flowers. There is times that I am out there for 2 to 3 hours attending to my garden. I do gardening in the front of my lawn and in my back yard. I just order canada seed for a green lawn. I hear it's the kind of lawn they have in golfing. can't wait

I really like to grow succulents & cacti. I have a lot of houseplants inside the house, too. One thing that is very special to me is a Christmas cactus my grandma gave me. It blooms the loveliest pink flowers.

With warm weather on the horizon, I'm looking forward to putting in my giant dahlia bulbs. The yellow ones are like the sun shining into my window. I'm not much of a gardener (the weeds take over most things by August), but those dahlias are so big they rise above it all.
My husband plants a big vegetable garden every year, even though our children are all married and moved out. So come late summer and early fall, I find myself still canning, making jams and jellys, and freezing veggies to supply the households of the kids and grandkids. Very satisfying work!

My flower gardens are just starting to come up. It's been a very long winter in Illinois. Everything should be fine unless we get another freeze. In order of appearance (if I remember correctly): crocus, daffodils, tulip, iris, Asian lilies and finally day lilies.

I have three lilacs that are probably 40+ years old. I had rose of sharon hedges everywhere, they came up like weeds after planting a couple. Last year we cut most of them out.

I also grow strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. We're down to one grape vine. I started using the upside down hangers for tomatoes since I get hives when I touch tomato plants.

My garden grows with the help of my 3 year old grandson who is hearing and speech impaired it helps with his learning colors and learning how to plant pretty flowers. He and I both have a green thumb. We grow plants from avocado seeds and other seeds. This is very good for him and I because he lives with me, and it helps us relax

My garden grows with the help of my Auntie Vi who has come to live with us this year. She is helping my black thumbs turn green and giving me advise from her many years of gardening with her husband. We are from Illinois and love lillac, however can't find any here in Georgia. Would love to get a start if anyone is willing to try a transfer. Peace & Prayers, B

I just moved to this house with a spectacular array of perrennials, this is only my second spring/summer. I have lavendar now and do not know how to care for it. Should it be cut back in the spring (like a mum)or just left alone? Does it need fertilizing?
What is the best way to dry it? When should it be picked for drying? What can it be used for/in? Thank you!
